A Bit About Me!

I became a Mum at 40 and one of the biggest things that hit me (apart from lack of sleep!) was an overwhelming feeling we’d lost touch with much of our natural parenting instincts and natural ways of living.

Did I really want my tiny baby to cry herself to sleep or was there an alternative, more natural way? Did I really need that expensive buggy from the get go or could I baby wear instead for the first few months?

And did I honestly need a huge amount of plastic, (often over stimulating) beepy toys that got used twice) or could I choose a few, well thought out toys that inspired good old creative, natural play?

Honestly, I didn’t always make the right choices at all, but I did learn a lot about the power of connecting to your inner voice about what your child (and you) really needs.

One Mum & A Little Lady has developed a lot since then – what started as a parenting site, sharing simple homemade playdough recipes & recommendations for peaceful parenting books, is now a website that offers more holistic research backed and (hopefully!) accessible information on leading a more ethical and sustainable lifestyle.

After all, small changes can make a big difference. I hope you find One Mum & A Little Lady useful.
